FRONTLINE OFF DUTY

Therapy that understands the job - and the life around it

Frontline Off Duty is a specialized branch of Mental Wealth Practice created for first responders and others working in demanding, high-pressure environments.

Less time explaining the culture, the schedule, and why the job affects you the way it does—and more time talking about what actually matters.

WHY FRONTLINE OFF DUTY

Stress, relationships, sleep, anger, family problems, motivation, anxiety—none of these are unique to first responders. The context surrounding them often is.

Shift work, exposure to things most people never see, department culture, dark humor, responsibility for other people’s lives, and the expectation to keep functioning can all shape how problems show up—and how people learn to deal with them.

Frontline Off Duty starts with an understanding of that context. You shouldn’t have to spend the beginning of therapy translating the job before you can start talking about your life.

The job changes the context

First responders come to therapy for many of the same reasons anyone else does. The difference is that the demands of the work can influence how those issues show up, how long they get pushed aside, and what makes them harder to deal with.

The job may be part of it. It doesn’t have to be all of it

WHAT WE WORK ON

Marriage strain, communication, parenting, disconnection, and the ways the job can affect life at home.

Relationships & Family

Shift schedules, disrupted sleep, difficulty winding down, and the impact that poor recovery can have on everything else.

Sleep & Recovery

Feeling constantly switched on, running on empty, irritability, or losing motivation for things that used to matter.

Stress & Burnout

Anger & Emotional Regulation

Short fuse, numbness, difficulty switching gears, or reactions that feel harder to control than they used to.

Events that stick with you, cumulative exposure, grief, guilt, or things you find yourself thinking about long after the shift ends.

Difficult Calls & Experiences

Identity & Life Outside the Job

Figuring out who you are beyond the uniform, especially through career changes, injury, retirement, or shifts in responsibility.

Alcohol, nicotine, gambling, avoidance, overworking, or other ways of shutting things off that may start creating problems of their own.

Substance & Coping

Procrastination, executive-function struggles, health habits, finances, relationships, or simply feeling like you are not showing up the way you want to.

Motivation, Focus & Everyday Life

Frontline Off Duty is designed to make finding the right support straightforward. You tell us what you’re looking for, and we help connect you with a clinician who fits your needs and understands the context of the work.

Specialized care without making it complicated

HOW IT WORKS

Tell us a little about what’s going on, what you’re hoping to work on, and anything that matters to you in choosing a therapist. You don’t need to know exactly what kind of therapy you need before getting in touch.

01 — Reach Out

We’ll help connect you with a clinician whose personality, experience, availability, and areas of focus make sense for you. Clinicians working with first responders receive dedicated training around first responder culture, occupational stress, shift work, and the ways the job can affect life outside of work.

02 — Get Matched

Meet virtually from wherever you’re comfortable and start with what matters most to you. The job can be part of the conversation when it needs to be—and stay out of the way when it doesn’t.

03 — Start Therapy

FOR ORGANIZATIONS

A resource your people can actually use

Departments, unions, EAPs, and other organizations can connect their members with clinicians who understand the environments they work in—not just the symptoms that bring them to therapy.

Frontline Off Duty is designed to make that connection easier. We provide a clear pathway to care, clinicians trained in first responder culture, and an approach that feels personal and practical rather than institutional.

Whether you’re looking for a trusted referral option, additional support for members and their families, or a mental health resource you can confidently share across your organization, we’re interested in building relationships that make quality care easier to access

Built around high-pressure work

Frontline Off Duty was created with first responders at its core, while recognizing that many other professions—and the families connected to them—carry their own versions of high pressure, responsibility, and stress.

First Responders

Firefighters, law enforcement, EMS, corrections, and others working in environments where difficult situations, irregular schedules, responsibility, and a culture of pushing through are part of the job.
